About Solaria
Solaria, established in 1991 by Aliuyanto, is a well-known Indonesian restaurant chain operating under PT Sinar Solaria. It has built a strong reputation for offering generous portion sizes and a diverse menu that blends Asian and Western flavors, including popular dishes like Kwetiau Siram. Starting from a modest outlet in Lippo Cikarang, the brand experienced significant growth and now operates more than 200 branches across 31 provinces in Indonesia.
Solaria was founded by Aliuyanto, a graduate of Universitas Gadjah Mada (1985), and officially established in 1991, with major growth starting around 1995.
Its name comes from the Latin word “solar,” symbolizing light and brightness. Despite setbacks during the 1998 unrest, when several outlets were damaged, the brand quickly recovered and expanded to over 130 locations within a decade.
Today, Solaria operates more than 200 outlets across 55 cities in 31 provinces, commonly found in malls, airports, and other busy public areas. The restaurant is known for its wide-ranging menu, featuring favorites like Nasi Goreng Teri Medan and Chicken Cordon Bleu, making it a popular choice for families.
